Load an Enterprise project custom text field

I have created a field "Client" as a Project03 custom field - enterprise
custom project text - and typed in a half dozen - it works well. How can I
easily add the remaining 2100 customers? How can I use the "Import Value
List" button to import from outside Project03 ? I have the list in Excel now.

There is no way to copy and paste text data from an application into the
Value List of a custom field. The Import Value List button is used to
import a value list from another field in Microsoft Project. Therefore, it
sounds like you'll need to type your customer list by hand into the field .

Is it possible to store the data in the database with code? Can I write a
VBA macro to load the SQL-Server database table? Which table might hold the
enterprise project text 4 field? or how can I identify the right table?
Which objects load this field? (I dread typing all these names.)
