I have a client who is the only one in a group of insurance agents that has
had the following difficulty when loading an 5 page application form. The
application form is designed around bookmarks moving the user from question
to question. It includes the four macros in Article 211219 to cause the Enter
key to function as a Tab. The form has a Read-only property. The user is
instructed to immediately Save in the unique name for the applicant, which
leaves the macros in force but creates a .doc that is not Read-only.
Nine offices are successfully using the form. This one office has the
difficulty opening form described in the error message below. His Word
security level has been changed to Low for testing purposes, to see if that
would help. Initially we changed to Medium to no avail. I am at a loss for
a next step.
Word experienced an error trying to open the file.
Try these suggestions.
· Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
· Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space.
· Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.
He does not experience anything like this in opening other documents, of
much greater size. So, memory/disk space are not the source of the problem.
I do not believe that Text Recovery is an applicable effort.
