I just got a new computer with Vista Premium and Office 2007 Home & Student.
It does not include Outlook. Can I somehow load the Outlook portion only
from my Office 2003 Suite? WHat happens if I try to load my old Office 2003
suite?

Thanks

Barry

Custom Install, & set *only* OL to run from Computer
PS the MS reccomendation is to install earliest version or component first,
run office update, then install latest version

Thanks DL.. I'll try that maybe this weekend. So I should uninstall the
Office Student & Home, load the Office 2003, then re-load the Office 2007 S&H?

DL,

I have the same issue as Barry's that I want to reload the Outlook from the
Office 2003. However, I have already installed the Home and Student 2007
version on my laptop, and I afraid I will loose 1 license if I un-install and
re-install H&S 2007. Do you think I can take the chance just custom install
the 2003 Outlook without removing the H & S 2007?

thanks

Uninstalling / reinstalling will not impact on your licence however you may
have to use phone activation as appossed to online
I dont however think you have anything to lose by first trying to install OL
only

Thanks DL. I will first try to install the 2003 OL only first. However, can
you explain a little bit more on "set *only* OL to run from Computer" , as I
have never done a custom install for any software. I know little about
computer and always just click "next" during an installation.

Also, will the system prompt me to use phone activition and provide me with
a phone number, if I have to reinstall H&S 2007?

When Installing Office 2003 select custom install, If I recollect the next
screen will allow you to select Add/Modify components, next screen shows the
components available, eg Word, Excel etc, there is an icon adjacent to each,
open the icon to select run from cd (which means it wont be installed) or
run from PC which means it will be installed. - you would need to check each
component -

If you have to reinstall 2007 it will either activate over the internet or
give you a link for phone activation in your local

Thanks a million! Your instruction is very clear and the steps do not sound
too complicated. I now have more confidence to try the custom install.
