Load Summary Resource Assignments

Using MS Project 2003, there is a pop up to connect to MS Project Server.

What does the checkbox "Load summary resource assignments" do and why would
I use it?

Should it normally be checked or unchecked when connecting to Project Server?

This is an excellent question about a very obscure and yet very powerful
little feature of Project Server 2003. Read the Resolution for Project
Server 2003 section of the following FAQ and you will quickly understand the

Another update and a thank you.

I have been doing my Admin work in MS Project / MS Project Server whenever I
could -- and learning "on the fly".

Today, I've been able to go back to my past postings and things are
beginning to make sense!

FYI - I learned that if I search for my name I can find all my postings (I
had been finding them previously by reading the subject line).
