Load values of partially completed tasks into Project

I am importing task information into project. The information has
partially completed tasks so the records have values for task_act_work
and task_pct_work_comp. It does not seem to matter what I do - this
information displays incorrectly in Project. For example, the table
MSP_Tasks will have a value of 30 in task_pct_work_comp field for a
particular row but project will display that same row with a value of
zero. If I save the information in Project and then update the fields
for task_act_work and task_pct_work_comp the values will then display
correctly. But I cannot seem to get these values to display correctly
in Project when I first load the information. Any ideas? Thanks very
much for any info.

Have you read the pjdb.htm file that comes with Project and set the correct
flag fields? If not your database changes will be ignored.

Yes I have set the flags. The pjdb.htm file says that the
PROJ_EXT_EDITED flag in the MSP_PROJECTS must be set to 1 and when
creating new rows in the MSP_TASKS table the EXT_EDIT_REF_DATA should
be set to 1 as well.

If I update the rows then I back up the data in the EXT_EDIT_REF_DATA
of MSP_TASKS using the Project procedure as advised. This works and
changes the values but not until after I have opened Project and saved
it. I need the information to show up correctly in the new rows when I
first import the data in. Any ideas? Thanks again.

The data in other columns will only ever update after it is recalculated in
Project then saved again. The only calculation engine is in Project, the
database only ever stores project data, it never calculates anything.

OK. Thanks. I guess I will have to import the data in, save it and then
update the columns for actual work and percent complete.
