My problem is basically that on a testinstallation, if I enter a page showing
grids in Project Server Web interface, then the grid just displays "Loading
data"...

My testserver is running Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2000 and Analysis
Server 2000. Server 2003 is fully patched with hotfixes, SQL and Analysis is
with SP3a. Sharepoint Services is SP1.

The above is the basis, and I have an harddisk image of this image, that has
no websites extended with Sharepoint Services...

If I extend the "Default website" (that has a name identical to the server
netbios name) with Sharepoint Services and install Projet server against this
website, the Project Server webinterface runs fine. If I extend another
website with Sharepoint Services and install Project Server against this
site, then I experience the "Loading Data" problem... The basic sharepoint
site works fine...

I have read and tried the suggestions in most of the articles regarding
security of MDAC folder etc. Both on file level (NTFS) and on the webserver
level...

Do you have a solution to this...?

Best regards

Jakob:

If you install Project Server on a virtual server that is also running
SharePoint, it must be added to the exclusions under it's managed paths.
Upgrade both your server and client to MDAC 2.8 to eliminate any possibility
of MDAC incompatibility as well.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply.

I have added the server (/ProjectServer) to the excluded paths list. Also, I
have tried to install the latest MDAC v 2.8, but since I am running on a
Server 2003 that I think is born with MDAC 2.8, the installation didn't do
much. And buttom line, it didn't solve my problem with "Loading data"...

Do you have any oher ideas ?

Thank you very much in advance...

Jakob:

I don't think Win2K3 servers are born with 2.8, at least I haven't seen
media setup that way.

You say it works on default web site, but not another web site. Are you
putting MDAC in the new website? Why are you wanting to setup this way
anyway?

Hi Jakob,

Were you able to figure this issue out? I am having a similar problem. I
wanted to see if Project Server 2k3 would work on a server that was
previously running Sharepoint Portal Server and now the data grids (most of
them) won't load. The only ones that do load are those that are under areas
such as documents, issues, risks, etc. let me know if you came up with any
solutions.

thanks!
