Loading Excel 2000 on XP?

Do you mean using it on Windows XP? Certainly. I have Excel 97, 2000
and 2002 all loaded on my notebook which uses Windows XP Professional
as its operating system.

It may be an idea to give clearer details of what your problem is.
When you say " I've tried loading the upgrade"... what upgrade? An
upgrade version of Excel 2000 which is intended to upgrade you from
Excel 97? If so, do you have 97 correctly installed on the machine
already? And if THAT'S so, then exactly what is it that "doesn't
work"? (What error messages do you get, for example?)

I just purchased a new computer with XP,it came bundled
with Worksuite 2003 and doesn't have Excel. I have
Office 2000 on CD and I'm trying to install Excel from
there. But when I type in the key code from the CD it
says set up failed to locate a qualifying product

Tom,
I have the same problem. Have not got it to work yet.
In addition,now my Access will not work and after
uninstalling and re-installing it still will not work.
Cannot find out what is going wrong.

I think this is Microsofts method of inspiring everyone
to go out and buy new versions of software for which they
have already paid. Bless Bill Gates, he must need cash to
pay for water at his new house.

An "upgrade" is precisely that. You must have a qualifying product to upgrade
from.

The original CD from the older version inserted would be sufficient to prove
you had an "upgradeable" product.

If you don't have the original CD or don't have the older version
installed(which seems the case here) the upgrade version sees nothing and will
not install.

If you already paid for an older version but have no CD(lost it?), this would
not be due to any money-grabbing scheme devised by Microsoft.

I checked with Bill.....his garden and lawn doing fine. We are talking about
the Pacific Northwest. No shortage of liquid sunshine.
