Loading FrontPage 2003 on Vista

I have a new laptop with Windows Vista and I can't get FrontPage 2003
installed. The microsoft website says it is compatible, but the install
stops at a prompt asking which drive Windows XP is installed on. Since I
don't have Windows XP, how do I get past this? The product key must be set
for XP. I need this program for my job and have to figure out how to get it
installed. I even tried to use the "install using an older program" link on
the Control Panel and still no luck. Microsoft may or may not charge me $50
with no guarantee of a solution - it will depend on the technician's opinion.
HELP!!!!

FrontPage does not ask where a particular OS is installed - is the message
actually asking about a previous version of Microsoft Office?
An Upgrade version of FrontPage will ask for a previous install of MS
Office, or a qualifying product. Unfortunately, the message is incorrect
and a previous version of FrontPage is required, though this may be
contained in any version of Office that includes FrontPage.

If the message _is_ asking for Windows XP - please give the full message
here because this has never been reported before.

Ron,

Thanks for your response. When the FrontPage Wizard opens and I enter the
product key, the next screen that comes up comes up with "Product Compliance
Check CD Key" at the top. The message is "The product key you entered
requires a version of Microsoft Office 97, 2000 or XP to upgrade. If one of
these versions of Microsoft Office is not installed on your machine, you will
need to supply a version of Microsoft Office on Cd-Rom in the next step.
Click OK to continue with the upgrade or click Cancel to stop the
installation." - word-for-word, punctuation, etc. The options are "OK" and
"Cancel." Do you know where I can go from here. My computer has Microsoft
Office 2007 installed. I was given this version to work with and do not have
any older versions.

Any thoughts,

Thanks,
Cheryl

It's an upgrade version of FrontPage. The qualifying product required for
installation is any previous version of FrontPage, or *previous* version of
Office that includes FrontPage - just plain Office will not work. There is
no way round this.

As a temporary measure, you could download the Expression Web trial from
http://expression.microsoft.com
Expression Web is NOT a FrontPage upgrade, but has some similarities with
FrontPage, and does support most of the FrontPage webbots - navigation is
the major exception. The trial lasts 60 days, and if you buy then Office
2007 is a qualifying product for the upgrade version.
