Hi,
I have tried 3 times (unsuccessfully) to load a new copy of MS Office 2008 for MAC - Product ID 92715-501-8109773-12081 onto my daughter's MAC OS 10
It has removed the previous version of Office, I had all other applications shut down (including Messenger) jsut in case - and loaded well all the way through to the next to last step - when it went to check for Auto Updates - it cam back to mactopia website and stopped!!
IS there a way to load in a custom manner that coudl 'bypass' that step - or do I need a patch or what ??

Very frustrating - but if you coudl suggest what or where I shoudl look for the solution - I can cut and paste screen shots or download another patch or check to ensure my config is ready for the application.

If you could email reply to me as well as (e-mail address removed) I can assist her to load and we can utilize the terrific functionality of Office 2008.
Do you need my Priduct Key as well??

Hope you can help soon...

Is the Office 2008 DVD new or did you purchase it a while ago? The original
DVDs came with 12.0.0. It also came with the AutoUpdater as a VISE
installer. It has to be upgraded to the new package installer before you can
go forward.

See this page for help installing. Includes screenshots.

I actually have a similar problem, I'm afraid to plug my book into the net with Office 2008 installed, once I've completed the updates to 12.1.5 and then try to run an app, the setup assistant opens, when I click finish the auto update opens finds nothing but the original app I wanted use never opens. I've had to uninstall and restart 3 times.
