Loading project requires sync to protected actuals on open, messin

We're converting a lot of plans using the project import facility, and the
data comes across fine until we're asked to sync to protected actuals, which
then messes everything up.

We know we need to get the actuals into actual work protected, and have
tried Collaborate>Publish>Republish Assignments, but the Overwrite check box
is grayed out. I know there were some known issues with Sync to protected
actuals, but we're using SP1, and I thought some were fixed.

Any ideas? Many thanks!

Is the import wizard asking you to sync to protected actuals? Why do you
need the actuals in Acutal Work Protected?
