Local Base Calendars

If I enable the allow projects to use local base calendars will that enable
project managers to update local resource calendars instead of having them
overwritten by Project Server the next time they open their project plan?

On our Project Server 2007, we disallow the use of local base calendars.
However, we can still edit the personal calendar of any Local resource in an
enterprise project. So I cannot confirm your problem or its potential
solution. On the other hand, no matter which local base calendar setting
you choose, the system will still prevent PMs from editing the resource
calendars of enterprise resources. Your PMs would need to be members of the
Administrators group for that, and they would need to edit the resource
calendars in the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this helps.

If you have local resources and you then apply a local calendar named
something other than Standard then the local calendars will not get
overwritten by the enterprise Standard calendar.
