Local calendars in an enterprise environment

Based on my research, one cannot create a local calendar which could be
assigned to a task or resource in an enterprise environment.
I have a user who needs a calendar to be assigned to tasks that will require
weekend work. It is possible that a task would begin on a Thursday and end
the following Monday and use the Saturday and/or Sunday in between.
Obviously, we cannot modify the standard calendar to show weekends as working
time. How do we resolve this?

Sally,

If you have the administrator permissions, you are able to create, in the
enterprise, a specific calendar with weekends as working time. Then the
users will be able to assign this calendar to one task or/and to some
resources.

The default settings in Project Server only allow the Project Server
administrator to create Base calendars. Yes, the Project Server
administrator can certainly create a new calendar that shows working time 7
days each week. The PM who needs this calendar can then apply the calendar
as a Task Calendar on the task that requires weekend work. Hope this helps.

Thank you Gerard. If we set up the calendar for just weekends, what
happens when the task runs from Thursday to Monday?

Thank you Dale. The 7 day a week calendard handles the task that goes from
Friday to Monday. It's always nice to hear from you.

Hello Sally,
If the task runs from Thursday to Monday, (so with a Duration of 5 days), if
you assign the "WE" calendar on it, the task will spread on 3 weekends (2
weekend and a half)
