I have a very large document that I'm trying to control by using a 3-column
table containing the title, a brief description of the contents, and a
hyperlink to the document itself. All of the documents are on my company's
server, distributed across several folders. When I create the hyperlink, it
works until I save and close the document.
When I reopen the document the link no longer works; the file is not found.
The path to the document is correct and exactly matches the path I use when
I browse to the document. Some of the documents to which I link are ones
that I created on my computer, some were created by others -- both fail in
the same manner.
I'm using XP/Office 2003 and have the same problem on two other computers
with the same OS and Office version.
I've reinstalled all of my software and have checked settings on documents
and file folders to no avail.
Can someone point me in the direction of a solution?
