Local resource corruption within Project Server

We are using Project Server with Active Directory. We recently brought on a
consultant whom we set up an email account within Outlook. He was initially
assigned some tasks as a local resource but recently we have assigned him
tasks as an Enterprise wide resource. (Not sure I have all the terms
correct on that).

We have three active projects. When we open one of the projects that he has
no assigned tasks and look at the Resource Usage view, this consultant is
listed well over 900 times with exactly the same information and as a LOCAL
resource. When we try to delete these entries Project 2003 hangs.

Anyone aware of this and perhaps a fix?
