Local Resources are killing me

Dear All

I have a small plan on an .mpp file, which has 4 LOCAL resources. Once i
import this plan to the enterprise, Microsoft project professional asks me to
map the local resources to the enterprise resources, which i succesfully do.

FYI: The Setup here of EPM does not allow managers to assign resources from
different departments.

During the last steps of the wizard i get a long message saying that "you do
not have build team priviledge" and "you cannot assing this resource on a
task"

THis error is expected becuse EPM Does not allow to assing resources from a
diff dept, so then it tells me to rename the resource which i did.

Now the Important Part:

Even when i rename the resource, Adam i make him Adam111, and then i publish
the project, Adam still recieves the task on his timesheets, altough i
renamed him.

And to add icing to the cake i also get an error saying "Manager cannot
create resource accounts"

Need advise as soon as possible. My Production date is coming sooon :).

Thnx in advance.

Regards
Sameer

I think the solution to your issue is simple and it has to do with how
you have set up the Local Resources. In the Enterprise Resource Pool
for each Local Resource, make sure that Workgroup is set to None. That
should eliminate the issue.

Hope this helps,

THnx for the reply mark.

I know we can do that, but can i deny the project managers to even see that
particular option, it should be a local resource by default.
