I have been using outlook 2003 for my emails and aol (dial up) for ISP.
Running windows XP home.
recently switched to broadband (cable) and started to use IE 6.0
whenever a url would be attached to an incomming email double clicking (open
in outlook) would result in aol trying to open. since Im not using aol, I
decided to remove aol programs.
Thats when the bigger problem started!
After deleting aol, I tried to open the url again in outllk and I got the
"Locate Link Browser" dialog box.
I could send and receive emails okay and can go to web sites manually.
I decided to reload aol, but that did not change the problem except that
double clicking on the url does not take me to the aol sign on screen, so
that problem did not come back. It does however continue to take me to the
"Locate Link Browser" dialog box. receiving/sending on outlook is working
I have another computer that also used aol as the ISP and that comouter
works perfectly. Double clicking on the url takes me to IE and to the web
site.
Looking on the web refered to unchecking DDE but my other computer which is
working great with aol software still installed has the same DDE checks, so
I have not touched those.
How do I correct the Locate link browser issue?
