Locate Personal folders on another drive?

Using Outlook v. 9.0.0.2416 with Windows XP

When XP located on Drive C crashes, and I have to reformat the
partition, I lose my personal Office and Outlook files, such as Contacts
and the mail file folders.

Is there a way to store the personal folders in another partition so
they are not lost when XP dies?
