Locate Server using an access form

I have to create a form where my boss types in the server
name and then connects to it.

Can this be done. Everything else is working in my
application excet this first step which we are doing
manually.

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to explain more what the 'boss' is expecting assuming you can
create a form and connect to the server? What miracles is he/she expecting?
