Locating Saved File

So I really need some help. My wife opened a file from her e-mail. She
worked on it for hours and then clicked save. Problem is that she never
renamed or did any sort of save as so it saved to the location that it was
downloaded to when she opened it.

Is there any way to retrieve this file once it has been closed?

You should never open Word attachments directly from e-mail - however it
*may* be possible to recover your changes. See
