Location of files?

Is there one place that I can set the location where OneNote 2007 store all
it's data?

Can I share that location between two OS'es in a dual boot configuration?

Take a look at Tools, Options, Filing Rules. That location controls
where certain special types of notes are stored. If you want to move
existing notebooks, then you need to move them using Windows Explorer.
You can use File, Notebook Properties to see which folder each notebook
is.

Yes, shouldn't be a problem.

Does this really mean that I have to manually change all the 5 different
location setting everytime I install / reinstall OneNote?

Hi Olav,

Those 5 settings are saved in your registry. As long as you are in the
same copy of Windows, those 5 settings (and all other Office settings
for that matter) will be retained in the registry no matter how many
times you uninstall and reinstall OneNote/Office.

And you don't actually have to set all 5.
If you just set the Unfiled Notes location (down the bottom of the options)
all the others will be default point to that same location. If you want to
set them individually to different locations however you can.

Also, note that if you're trying to share your actual notebook between two
machines you should create the notebook on one machine, and then just open
it on the other machine. You'll have a local cached copy on that other
machine that will stay in sync so you can use it even when it's disconnected
from the first machine.
