I was running outlook 2000 on win 98se -- the computer died, so I pull
the hard drive and put in a usb containter -- I need to copy the
outlook info ( mail, contacts ) from the drive that is now a usb drive
to my new computer running xp and outlook 2003 -- where would the data
be on the old drive?

Don't recall for Windows 98 but look for a hidden file with the extension .pst.

And then, *dont import* the info, but open within OL and copy data to the
OL2003 personal folders

I believe Windows 98 puts it in C:\Windows\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook by default.
