location to save file

In office 2008 when I try to "save as" a file, I am only offered a limited number of folders as the location to "save to". I would like to be able to access the full Finder window at that point. I have heard that this can be done by running a single line of code in Terminal, but have been unable to determine which code to run - help!

Yeah - you can peel carrots with a chain saw too, but before you decide to
go all Leatherface on us try this:

Go into the Save As dialog & click the cute little chiclet button (with the
down-pointing triangle) just to the right of the Save As: list to expand the
dialog... And then be sure to send a Thank You note to Apple for their
conscientious - albeit undocumented & unidentified - conservation of screen
space :)

Thank you, but the little chicklet only provides the option to save to a very small limited subset of folders. I would really like to be able to save to folders that are not shown in the list provided by the chicklet.

I think you're clicking the *wrong* button :) You're still using one of the
buttons that have 2 small triangles.

The one next to the Save As: list which only has the one large triangle is
the one I steered you to.

If the triangle on that button points *UP* you should have exactly that. If
it points *DOWN* the dialog collapses.

When the dialog is expanded the panel on the left provides access to any
devices, places or network locations available for storing files.
