Lock a Field

Right-click on chosen field and goto Data tab, there the
option Locked should be changed to Yes

I am creating a complex security on my database and want

to know if you can lock a field in a form so that when
information is entered into that field it can not be
deleted or changed. I do not want to lock all fields in
the form because these fields are edited as we gather more
information. But the one field once the information is
entered I do not want anyone to change it.

I tried this but the problem is that I want the information entered first
and then not to allow for any changes. If I lock the field then non of the
records can have data entered into this field. I just want to lock it after
the information is entered.

Can this be done.
