Lock graphic

I've drawn a box as a sort of 'frame' around what's to be written in the
document. I have to supply this as a template to a client and it's all too
easy to select the box. How can I lock it, or have it in the background, so
that it's uneditable?

The box is currently behind the text, but as there's no text in the
document, if you click on the page, the box is selected.

Thanks for that. I thought about watermarking, but wasn't sure if that
knocked the image back as a normal watermark. I will look into it.

If you insert as a watermark using Word's built-in feature, it will have
"washout" formatting (which can be removed), but if you create it manually,
it won't.
