We are using Word 2003 in a Windows domain. Is it possible to lock track
changes settings either in the group policy, the registry or a configuration
file.
The setting we are most looking to lock found under TOOLS > OPTIONS > TRACK
CHANGES > USE BALLOONS (PRINT & WEB LAYOUT) = set to "Never".
I haven't found this option in group policy (if I'm wrong please correct
me). I assume it must be stored either in the registry, a pip file or .dot?
does anyone know?
Even better, if anyone knows how this can be administered centrally then
that would be really handy.
I guess one last alternative would be to use the custom maintenance wizard
to capture the settings of an existing PC and apply these to all other
machines. While this would work, it would only set the default setting above,
and not lock it.
Many thanks
Mike.
