Lock up with selection of drop down screens

I am using office 2003 latest SP and Project 2003 SP3 on Vista and every
time I choose a drop down from filters or resources etc - the program shuts
down completely - very annoying and typing selections every choice is very
time consuming. Does anyone have an idea why this is occuring? I would like
to be able to use the drop down choices to populate fields.

Hi John S,

Are you by chance using an HP computer with security or credential
management software? There have been a number of reports of just
the problem you note (drop-down lists causing crashes) on HP
computers.

Try a search of this newsgroup on google groups
(http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.project/topics).
Look for the phrase HP credentials.
