I have an Excel workbook that has been around since the Office 95 days. I am
currently using Office 2003 and the workbook contains a number of macros in a
macro project.
I have created a "Self Sign" Digital Certificate for VBA projects that I
have successfully used to sign the macros in other workbook files. When I
sign the macros in this specific workbook file, all seems to go well (no
error or warning messages) but if I save the signed file, close and re-open
it, I can no longer open the macro project. When I open VB editor and attempt
to check the properties of the project, I get an error message that says
"Project is un-viewable" with "Project Locked" in the title bar of the window.
I believe that signing the macro has somehow corrupted the file into
thinking that the macro project is locked but because it is corrupted, I
don't even get the dialog that would normally ask for the password to unlock
the project.
1. Does anyone know of a way to recover/unlock a workbook file in this
condition?
2. Any advice on how I should “rebuild†the file so that I can sign it
without this problem?
Thanks in advance!
