locked project2

Word 2002, Win XP SP-2
Every time I start Word and start to type, the Project Locked dialog box
opens with the message "Project is unviewable".

I've checked the security options. There are no digital signatures listed.

I only use one add-in: TaskPane Controller.dot - which I have been using for
over a year with no problems.

When I open word in the safe mode, the dialog box does not appear.

I don't know if it's related to this problem, but I have recently created
macros in Excel with Visual Basic. Since both Word and Excel are Office
products, could this be the the cause of the problem?

Hi John,

You may think the taskpane controller is the only add-in, but they can
sneak up on you. :) See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011514521033.aspx for a
complete rundown of how to find all add-ins.

The fact that the /a switch stops the message indicates that the
problem is in an add-in or in Normal.dot itself, because those are the
things the switch suppresses. If you don't find another add-in by
following the article, try renaming Normal.dot and restarting Word.

The presence or absence of digital signatures proves nothing. In fact,
if one was present, it might prevent the message, not cause it. The
Excel macros also won't have anything to do with this message in Word.

The fact that it's a "project unviewable" message is puzzling, because
usually that appears only when you try to open an add-in's macro
project in the VBA editor, not when you type ordinary text in a
document. I suppose it could be a macro that's trying to edit the code
of another macro -- such things are possible but uncommon.
