Locking a record after staff enter data

I am trying to set up a database that my staff can enter data into, and that
I can then review and enter my initials into a field, after which that field
will be locked to anyone except me. I could, if necessary, include a check
box titled "locked" or something like that, but I would prefer to just have
it lock on me entering my initials.

I gather there is a way to program that in, I think using the "event" tab,
but I can't figure out exactly how. I really appreciate any help!

P.S. I don't have an "on current" field in my properties window. I'm using
Access 2002 SP3. I have lots of other "on XXXX" options, but ont an "on
current."

(sorry for the double-post too... MS said the first one was lost, and then
it appeared anyway...)
