locking cells

I cannot figure out how to lock individual cells. I have formulas I wish to protect. Help - Thank

By default, ALL cells are locked on a new worksheet. However, the locking
doesn't take effect until you protect the worksheet (tools/protect...)
What you need to do is select all the cells which CAN be changed by the
user, and UNProtect them, then protect the worksheet.
