Locking Columns

I am trying to lock a single column from being edited. I am running a
database of daily equipment and my not so computer savvy employees will end
up deleting fields.

Is there a way to do this?

Unfortunately, OneNote only locks data at a file level and we use system
permissions for that. If you have a Sharepoint site available to you, you can
use it for this purpose.

Yet another example of using OneNote for something it was not designed
for. Boy, people have been busy out there.

You would be much better off using a spreadsheet or database and simply
providing a link to it from OneNote. Heck, you could even embed the
spreadsheet document right in the OneNote page as an icon. Then people
could open the spreadsheet, be able to use the features of the
spreadsheet software, then close the spreadsheet. Make sure to remind
them to always close it as soon as they are finished editing it so they
don't lock someone else out.
