Locking down Word

H

Hammer

Hello

I need to prevent all user input to Word while I'm performing some
initialization of my application. What I'm looking for is essentially
a Word equivalent of the Excel property "Interactive". Does anyone
know of a similar property or some other way of preventing Word from
accepting user input?

Office versions that should be supported: 2000, XP & 2003. Windows
versions: 2000 & XP

Thanks

Hi Jocob,

How about setting the Visible property of the Application object to False
temporarily?

Thank you for you answer. I generally don't like setting the visible
property because it causes the user to "loose" the application s/he is
about to work with. Starting my application takes, at the best of
times, somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds and simply displaying a
splash-screen isn't enough to convince many inexperienced users that
Word is actually there somewhere, which tends to cause them to try and
start Word again.

Kindest Regards
