Locking files from simultaneously being edited.

Is it possible to lock files from simultaneously being edited in a "File
Sharing folder".
I want excel and word files not being changed simultaneously leading to a
conflict we need to resolve later.
I'd rather have the second person open the file as read-only so that he is
made aware of simultaneous editing. He/she then can always choose to save
under a different name.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dear Marco,

Based on your situation, I think we should manually change the permission of
his account role.

For example, if he is the participant of this workspace, then you can modify
the role of participant and make the member of this role only have no
permission to modify the files of this tool.

For your convenience, we can refe to these steps.

1: Open this workspace and choose this tool tab in this workspace.
2: right click this tool and choose Properties
3: In its Properties interface, please choose permission tab and then choose
Participant object and then change its related permission manually.

Then you can test the results.

On the other hands, you can also change his role to Guest.

Best regards,
