Locking graphics in place

Bill

I have been directed to update my government office's
letterhead by adding two graphics to the bottom of the
page. One graphic is aligned to the left corner, and the
other to the right. Obviously these graphics should only
appear on the first page of any document created with the
letterhead template.

When I paste a block of text that is more than one page
long into the body of the letterhead, these graphics move
from the first page to the last page of the document, but
retain their locations relative to the page. I have set
each graphic at absolute positions, to wrap top and
bottom, not to move with text, not to allow overlap, and
not to lock anchor.

This particular problem does not appear to happen when
simply typing in text. The text will break to the second
page without moving graphics from the first page.

I am using Word XP, but have disabled features introduced
after Word 97 to insure compatibility with some others in
my agency.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Bill

Shauna,

That did the trick! You're awesome.

Many thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill

You need to put the graphics in the footer, and set the
document (or at least its first section) to have a
different first page
