Locking linked cells?

I have a source workbook with a large database. Many rows
with lots of columns summed across and down. I have other
worksbooks with worksheets that have cells that are linked
to the cells in the totals in the last column on source
workbook. Occasionally, I have to add a row in the source
workbook that pushes all the rows under it down. When I
open up the linked workbooks, the linked cells in the
target worksheets all keep the same cell address as
originally and so the totals in the cells are wrong. Is
it possible to link a cell in the target worksheet with a
cell in the source worksheet so that if the source cell
changes address the address in the linked cell will change
also? This seems to work OK if both workbooks are open,
but not if the target workbook is closed. Is there a way
to link the cells so they stay linked no matter when or
where the source cell is moved?
