Locking links when saving documents

I have a linked document object set up in document templates that is se
to update on opening. When the templates are used they are then save
under a different name and in a different directory.

When the document is saved the linked document object sometime
redefines itself to a different file location depending on where th
document is saved and therfore when the document is re-opened an erro
displays in the link to say that the object doesn't exist. My thought
are that if I can lock the links when I save the document, this wil
solve the problem

Does anyone know how to lock a linked document object everytim
(automatically) a document is saved or know of any other solution?

Hi Annette,

Ctrl+F11 locks a field.
