locking outlook toolbar

It seems like no one understands the question about locking down the
positioning of the toolbars in Outlook 2003. I have the same problem every
time I open Outlook 2003, the default toolbars are scattered all over the
place - taking up much more space than they need to. So I have to re-arrange
them so that they only take up (2) two lines again. Internet Explorer allows
you to do this, as do most other programs. Why Outlook 2003 does not let you
"lock" the toolbars, or why they shift in the first place is a mystery.

There is indeed no locking feature in Office that allows you to do that but
in general the Toolbars should stay where you've left them. Do you you have
any add-ins installed that have there own toolbar in Outlook? They can
seriously mess things up for you. If you are just using the regular Toolbars
from Outlook they should stay put correctly. If they don't try a reset on
your Toolbar.

To reset the Toolbar; all Toolbar customizations will be lost and the
Toolbar will reset to what it looked like when you first installed Outlook.
To do this locate outcmd.dat and rename it to outcmd.old when Outlook is
closed. By default you can find it here;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

No Add-ins installed, stock default setup. And this is a fresh install of MS
Office Professional 2003 (Less than 7 days old), but both this install of
Outlook 2003 & the Trial version that came with this laptop had this problem.
Laptop is also very new, only 3 months old. And yes, I did fully uninstall
the Standard Edition Trial version prior to installing the Pro version.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a shot.
