Log in screen keeps appearing for one user - why?

I am working with a customer who is now being continually being presented
with the windows log in screen when attempting to access items in Project Web
Access. Other users are able to access PWA using windows authentication
without the same challenge, no changes have been made to any of the security
protocols, the only thing different for the user is that they deleted their
browsing history in I.E. 8.0

Dominic:

Look for stored passwords that the system might be sending in error. Also,
check that the user can logon to a different machine without experiencing
the behavior. Worst case is you recreate the profile for the user on this
system.
