LOG IN TO CERTAIN SITES

After my repair guy removed viruses from my computer and
re-installed Windows 98, I can't log in to certain sites,
i.e. eBay and Paypal. I can log in to other sites such
as Amazon and even Etrade. When trying to log into eBay
and half.com and Paypal, I get a Microsoft message that
says it must shut down. Any suggestions? P.S. I have
dsl...not a dial up. Thanks
