Log on password won't save

Hi,

- I visit my web page
- I click on IE's Edit with Microsoft FrontPage toolbar button
- FrontPage loads
- I get the username & password prompt
- I enter my password (and check the remember password checkbox
- Access my FrontPage web ok..do my edits...save..logoff..works fine.

But...
When I go to edit my page again...my password is never saved.

Any solutions?

I've found this happens sometimes based on how the information gets stored
in windows. I've noticed that the usernams that I can't save passwords for
end up in my local account's stored user names and passwords area (on Win XP
Pro). If you're on Windows XP Pro, try going to control panel | user
accounts | select your account name | select manage my network passwords.
Try removing the account and trying again with FrontPage. I think there's
something wrong with the way the user account gets cached within Windows
itself that prevents FP from being able to store the password.

What happens when you open the site for editing directly in FP via File Menu | Open web / site, and
then access the site later using this method?

Passwords used by FP are "stored" using IE
In IE use Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete > turn on passwords
Then in IE use Tools > Internet Options > Security
Click on 'Trusted' and on 'Custom Level'
Make sure the selection at the bottom is set to:
'Automatic logon with current username and password' and click OK
Click on 'Sites' and add your site URL in the 'Add this Web Site to the Zone', and OK, OK
- note: you may have to unselect the option: Require server verification (https)... to add your site
