Logging; How to & What does it show?

I enabled logging on my Outlook 2003 client as a training
procedure for myself in accordance with
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA011742661033.aspx

But then read, "the Calendar log file is a binary file that cannot be
read without a conversion process. You should contact Microsoft
Services for additional information about this procedure."

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the "conversion process"
involves and whether it ACTUALLY shows useful information that
may be used in troubleshooting Calendar and Reminder events.

I have already persued opening an "incident" with Microsoft
support through our internal channels and was told we cannot
expend support hours for a 'training' issue. To me it is a shame
that I am locked out from obtaining additional information on an
available (potentially valuable) procedure because of corporate
bureaucracy (either within my own company or indirectly as a
result of our support agreement with Microsoft).

I do have one internal client that has an ongoing Outlook 2003
Reminder issue and he has already done the "Detect & Repair"
and " /cleanreminders" procedures.

(see article # 286166
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/286166/en-us )

The justification I have for accessing this information as a
Helpdesk support training method would fall flat on its
proverbial "face" if the log files do not show anything very
helpful for this type of problem.

Thanks in advance for any advice, insight or assistance!
