Logo and Resizing

I have created a logo in another program. When I import it, it looks great! I
format it to "float" and have no problems moving, etc.

My problem is the little circle handles are way bigger than the graphic. Is
there a way to make the handles to resize up near the logo? I've already
disabled the feature that creates a text box. So why do I still get so much
space around my logo. It doesn't help me when I'm placing things nearby to it
even if it's "floating".
