Logo in header...trouble combining logo w/ variable text

I have a company logo left-justified in my header and want to be able to type
directly to the right of that, but I can't do it without that text repeating
on all pages (even with "different first page" enabled, it still repeats from
page 2 to 3, etc.) I tried layering a text box over it, but since that sits
within the header area, it keeps repeating as well. Can it be done?

You're on the right track :), but you just haven't gone quite far enough.

If the Header had already gone beyond the first page before you applied the
Different First Page property it needs to be deleted from any one of those
pages' Header - which will remove it from all. If you have Sections though
you'll have to delete the Header in each one.

Well, you "can" but it is a horrible kludge :)

Anything in the header will repeat on all pages, as you have discovered
(that's the purpose of the header).

So: You can put your logo there, and only your logo.

Now: The header does not have to be that size. You can insert the logo
into the header, so it anchors in the header, and then drag it into the text
area of the page, and that's where it will appear.

It will still replicate on each page, because it is anchored in the header.
But it will appear in the text area.

Now: Reduce your Header margin as close to zero as you can get it. That
will allow the text from the text area to move up beside the logo.

Now: Right-click the logo and set its wrapping style to "Square".

The logo will now appear on each page, and the text will wrap to the right
of and below it on each page :)

Cheers
