Hi, Markus.

No. Not if user-level security is applied to the database. If a "home
grown" security scheme is applied, then a "Log Off" button could be used in
this scenario. However, we don't recommend "home grown" security for Access
databases, because such systems are so easily bypassed.

For security reasons, one must authenticate with a valid User ID and
password _before_ Access can open the database with the user's appropriate
permissions. If the database were already open and the "next" user had more
restrictive permissions on objects and these objects were already open, Jet
security can't automatically close the "unauthorized" objects when the next
user "logs on." The next user would have all the permissions of the
previous user for all open objects.

To change users when the shift changes, the current user needs to close the
database so that the next user can authenticate with a User ID and password
and Jet will apply the user's appropriate permissions when opening the
database.
