Logon Problem - Dialog box "hangs" need to cancel and Logon Twice

I have a strange glitch with some users of Project Server 2003. When the
click Connect button when first starting Project, the "Project Server
Security Logon" dialog box appears and the program hangs. They need to
cancel the dialog box and click connect a second time in order to log in.

Any suggestions? The users have XP Pro SP1 and Office 2003 with SP2.

This is commonly caused by newer versions of McAfee anti-virus. I do not
know of a cure. You already know the workaround.
