Logon to MSP brings up security logon screen

My current client has difficulties for all their resources to log onto MSP.
If they select "Connect" on Project Server Accounts, the Project Server
Security Logon screen appears and they have to say cancel once and again
"Connect" before it connects to the project server. Is there any solution
for this problem?

Elize,

This is from another newsgroup discussion; should send you in the right
direction.

All - we found the culprit.

We have XP with SP2 and McAfee 8.0 running. The interaction between those
to versions of those two problems is causing our lockup. If you downgrade
the virus scan or not load SP2, you don't have a problem. Works like a charm.

Our MS/virus person said there is a *.dll not playing nice. He is looking
into the issue.

Hope this helps.

We have the same problem as described by Sara. Intresting to note that we do
only have this problem when workstation access the network via WIFI (11 Mbs).
With a normal hardwired connection we don't have the problem.

We think that the problem has something to do with a timeout or encryption.
We want to try if it is possible to change a registry setting, does anyone
know the registrysettings for timeouts? Is there a whitepaper available that
describes the registry settings.

Any new info on this issue? I have the same problem; however, simply
disabling McAfee doesn't seem to solve it. Did you find the dll?

Hi Toby,

MS has/had a hotfix created for this issue. However, the hotfix is no
longer available, so I was told.

We were given the hotfix about a month ago and successfully tested the code.
However, we were told that once Project SP2 is applied, it will overwrite
the hotfix. The hotfix would not run after the installation of SP2. SP2 is
slated for the Oct/Nov timeframe (so I was told); the new hotfix for this
connectivity issue would be issued about 2 months later.

We made a decision at our company to not deploy this hotfix. It seemed our
users would be more upset if we give them a solution, then take it away for
who knows how long.

Thanks!

Sara
