Lon Lat positions in chart

Can anyone help me with the following problem?

I have a number of positions in longitudinal and latitude positions.
At these positions I have data about the tide.(Water heights to be
exact.)
I want to plot these heights in a 3D surface in excel, but the grid is
irregular.
I have tried to set up a regular grid, but then the grid gets too
tight and the clarity gets appalling..
Perhaps it is possible to plot the values of the water height in
another program such as Google Earth?

If anyone has a solution, thanks in advance,

Excel's graphs (charts) don't allow for continuous placement along an axis as a function of
value, except for the XY Scatter chart type, which has two value axes, but it doesn't have a
third dimension. Most of the chart types use what are called category axes, where they're
spaced regularly regardless of value. You could fake it out by creating lots of categories
in your sheet, then putting your values in the nearest one. The Time-scale axis, available
in most of the category axis charts, does just that automatically. But it would be some
trouble, and the results would not likely be to your liking.

There are other graphing packages. Perhaps someone with knowledge will mention them.
