Long delay for drop box response in file/open, Office 2000

eWhen I select file/open in Word or Excel in Office 2000, there is a long
delay before file folders and drives show. It can be a few minutes. The
computer is on a peer network with many mapped network drives. Programs
other than Office 2000 applications don't have this problem.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
