Long Delay Opening or saving files. . .

Why is there such a lengthy delay opening and/or saving
ANY data file in ANY Microsoft application, not just
Word??? I have a Pentium 4 1.6GHz processor with 1.5 GB
of RAM. All of my other files in applications such as
PageMaker, CorelDraw and SmartSuite open instantly???
Can you please advise how to correct this? I avoid using
your software for this reason and am hesitant to spend my
money to upgrade any Microsoft software due to this
problem. I keep my computers maintained and virus free
and all windows updates applied as soon as they are
available.

Please advise what is necessary to correct this problem?
This is a real waste of my valuable time.

You seem to be under the impression that Microsoft provides the answers in
this forum. Not the case. Just volunteers, helping each other out. If it's
getting you down, stop using Microsoft products.
