Long Load Time , Tweaks?

I have an MDE file. Opening of a particular form (which contains
numerous subforms) takes about 20 seconds. This is really quite
unacceptable from a user standpoint. After the first load however,
re-opening the form only takes about 5 seconds.

The Access interface is running with a Microsoft SQL Server backend.
How should I go about pinpointing exactly the cause of this slow
initialization so that I can eventually minimize the load time?
